I have been asked a number of times to explain why I chose to name my studio "Little Blue Hippo Studio".
Little Blue was a studio model at my undergraduate alma mater,
California University of Pennsylvania.
He served in this role at the Vulcan Studio for over 30 years. Yet only a few people realize that
Little Blue did not come to the Mon Valley in Southwestern PA without prior experience as an artist's
model. Below are just a few works for which Little Blue posed. His range, as you can see, is vast.
Little Blue is now enjoying a well-earned retirement in Washington, PA.
